What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? Publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. People who were lateraling without being on track for hours and seeking the year and bonus with the new firm, did the question of hours come up and how did you handle it during interviews to make sure you got the bonus from new firm?

I've seen people say that if you're underpaid, you can't just outline your contributions because your manager needs a compelling reason for finance to bump your salary and they need to prove you're underpaid. So how do I present my case that I'm being underpaid other than "my friends make this amount in their role" or "Glassdoor says this" when finance can find rebuttals for these arguments?
