Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. And my city don't have harman office. HR did mention permanent remote, still want to confirm as I've heard many cases people were called back across different product based companies. At this point, I'm looking anywhere and everywhere. I just need to get back to work, even if that means I have to move across the country or across the world.
I have honestly been looking and applying everywhere. The job market is awful and I just need a job at this point. I have already given up finding a fully remote role.
I mostly lean towards local (hybrid or onsite), but, given
the corporate environment nowadays,, it doesn’t make sense to relocate to a different place (even short term)
& be at the receiving end of yet another corporate layoff
or firing (due to financial belt tightening or AI or OR someone’s whims) in a few months..Of course, if someone is in financially tough spot & they badly need
a job, they may not have many options but to relocate ..
If you don’t have anything holding you back, may be a good option. I live in a tier 3 city that no one in their right mind would ever move to and job opportunities aren’t bad even if pay is a bit lower.
Baltimore. I can’t think of one reason as to why I stay here other than I can’t think of any reason anyone else would either.
A little over 2 weeks laid off at this point in Colorado Springs, and I'm hoping for a remote or local job, but a hybrid position (like once a week in office in Denver, ~1hr away) would be fine, too.
Really do not want to move, we have a great 2020-era mtg, our family fits our house really well, and we have communities established for our kiddos.
As a software engineer halfway pivoted to data, it really should not be this hard to find a remote or local role.
