Any 🐠 move over to a PE role from consulting but at a more senior level? Like VP? Saw a few examples of folks at newer funds but the story is always short like “that guy was a rockstar.”. Curious to hear of anybody doing this and how they moved.

Has anyone transitioned from working in a company to being an independent contractor? How long did the transition take and what are the pros or cons from working solo?

I've done a lot of self-work this year re: where I've been most successful and fulfilled over my last ten years.. I'm 32 and have been in sales, sales leadership, and business leadership (I've been a ceo and am currently head of sales at a start up).

All that said, I'm looking for some words of wisdom on how to pivot to sales ops, Rev ops, or GTM strategy. The latter probably being my preference.

Estimated tax payment question:
I converted $30k of rollover 401k into a Roth IRA and have $26k of realized ST Capital Gains this year (Roth conversion in end of Q1 and most capital gains in Q2).
My total federal withholding tax last year was approximately $12k and this year I will have 40% more in reported income on my employer W2 and anticipate higher that $12k federal withholding for my new job. Given this, what is the best way to go about making est. tax payments for the income (continued.)
