Getting my real estate sales license so I can represent myself and maybe friends in deals. Anyone know a good brokerage to sign with that will give me a good commission split? For context, I’m in Austin, TX

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking at a brokerage that will feed you leads, the split will be higher towards the brokerage. There are “referral only” brokerages, if you do not plan on being in production which sounds like may be the best option for you. Beware monthly fees! Great split often means higher monthly fees or “desk fees.” Do your research and what works best for you financially.

Following.

I’d be a little less concerned about your split that about your career development. Especially since you are just starting out. I look for a broker that’s invested in your success.

Considering switching careers:

I got hired straight out from college 5 years ago from a small CPA firm and have worked in Tax ever since. Lately, I feel like this is not what I'm actually into. What else I can do with my Accounting degree?

My passion is Real Estate and Interior Design, love Managerial Accounting, I can sit for hours analyzing data, I also have a degree in Supply Chain Management.

My passion cannot feed my family but I've been burned out so much after years in Tax. 😞

We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then.
