Who’s negotiated severance? Any tips?
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

I’m in the same boat as you :/
You’re not alone. The job market is just really bad right now. Try to be kind to yourself.
That’s exactly right.

Don’t lose hope! No one is getting hired right now. I just got hired after 8 months and it took an insane amount of work. Keep working and you’ll find something good.
Hey friend. Tough times out here. Try and keep your head up. Are you trying to freelance as well as job hunt? What market? If you like, PM me your book - would be happy to take a look.
I’m in the same exact situation. Don’t lose hope, take each day as it comes
Unfortunately the jobs will probably not return until late 2021, early 2022 as the market is now starting to correct itself as we enter the post covid recession. Lots of people will have to be living off their nest egg until then.
Until capitalism develops a conscience, Maybe socialism is the answer.
I say try a stunt now. Would definitely get you attention if it’s clever.
in my experience, most people hate stunts.

It’s only been 2 months for me and I’m already feeling the hopelessness in a big way.
Hang in there. Same situation and I have 9 or 10 Cannes lions. It’s a dry era. Take your foot off the gas. I mean keep poking at opportunities but maybe just an hour or two a day applying on LinkedIn. Then sell useless crap you have on Facebook marketplace (amazing!) and get nimble and ready to move when the stars align.
