Congrats! Going to be a dad to my first child (a baby girl) in 7-8 weeks. I have nothing else to contribute other than a celebration of parenthood!
I would not count on that. You will have significantly less pull to get those types of projects as a new hire.
Yes! Very accommodating, friend is on a 2-3 month absence for paternity leave. He’s a BTA! Edit: he has requested remote roles and they are letting him work on and off.
Congrats OP! I can definitely say that officially, Deloitte as a firm will be very supportive of you as a new parent (excellent paternity leave, child care, etc), and almost everyone you meet should be pretty accommodating in general. It may however limit you in your growth opportunities and ability to build a strong and effective network in the firm depending on your field and whether remote is practical for client needs. I wouldn’t let that hold you back from joining as I think Deloitte is very supportive of this compared to many firms
I would join, leverage paternity leave and bounce in 2 years. Remote and local work is hard to find and sustain. Especially depending on where you live.
