Starting a new position in a few weeks and have an opportunity to speak with my future boss before starting. Is there anything I should ask before starting that wouldn’t already have been covered in the interview? What is your understanding of the norms around whose names end up on a brief/complaint/motion papers etc.? I’m a midlevel at an AmLaw 20 firm and have twice been the principal drafter of something only to be cut from the signature block. The associate senior to me is on it despite having done far less of the work. And it’s not because it required a rewrite or something. The filed product is 80-90% my work. Am I wrong to be pissed off about this?

On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). Managers schedule meeting after office hours and expects us to be available always.

Sorry to say this but I have seen only Indians who work extra hours. What's even funny is that the upper management laugh at foreigners who work exactly 8hours.

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?

On-board my first flight in 6 months watching a man 2 rows down gradually fill with rage as our flight reaches 45 minutes of delay. I never realized how much i missed this. I finally feel home again.

Just started my 10 straight days of the “no pants dance”! Otherwise known as a remote week. Haven’t had one in a very long time.

I left KPMG about a month ago to be a senior leader in a smaller tech company's finance function. It isn't bad, get pretty great flexibility... but I don't think I like it overall. How long do I have to stay until I can boomerang to consulting without it looking bad? Given the crazy hiring right now, can I do it sooner rather than later?
