Got an offer at EY as a PAS consultant in Canada (experienced hire w/ 8 years in industry). Interview process literally lasted less than business day (fit interview in the AM, got a call an hour later stating associate wants to meet me that afternoon; they completely skipped the case + group interviews). Got an offer the next day & they mentioned HR would call next week to discuss "administrative details" AKA negotiate salary.

How much I can expect in hand.

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Why not? Seems like they were really impressed with you
I was particularly surprised by how fast it all went down + I’m still wondering whether the omission to have me take on the case resolution + group interviews was voluntary or not…
Most seniors especially in PAS are making 80s-90s. If you’re a senior 3 expect 90-95 but I would say they would accept your 100K offer.
I got offered 75K and I got them up to 95K when I joined ways back.
Thanks for sharing. My current employer has a nominally lower direct compensation, but offers a ridiculously generous pension plan (2$ given for every 1$ invested). I’ll be taking this into consideration.
I’ll keep BATNA in mind; at the end of the day I WANT this to work and will be open minded to their constraints, but I won’t quit my current job if I feel I have to settle (what’s the point in that?).
Thanks for sharing & please feel free to add anything you feel is relevant.
Update : asked for 90k. Got a counteroffer for 85k and a senior consultant position. Planning on accepting.
