Got an offer from a big four (which I have recently signed). But now have a much better offer from another Big four (better salary, team, culture etc). They were definitely my first choice. What are my options, should I go back on my previous signed offer, can I even do that ?

HYPSM ug in econ, 3.7gpa, GRE 169v/163m. 4 years exp (age 25) on matriculation (2 MBB, 2 int development). No promos.

ECs: founded social enterprise, journalism (on health, environmental inequities etc) at top pubs, published academic research, 4 yrs volunteering as advisor for social entrepreneurs. Recs good not amazing.

ST career goal = social impact VC; LT = social entrepreneurship.

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

1. Do you include the duration of your projects that you're including in your application? I have several years of experience but am highlighting only the most relevant ones. But they are projects from a year or two ago.
