A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

Coach
Your ego.
For school hires, no negotiation—sorry.
The only upside would be 1. Your ego 2. realizing the Bain folks are cooler and changing your mind. But please don’t waste others time …
You are overthinking this!!!
TLDR: are there any upsides to getting multiple MBB offers? I’ve heard they all communicate who gets offers
Coach
Not at all. Take the offer.
So it’s not true that some firms offer a special bonus to attract cross hires? And partners won’t know if someone had multiple offers? I’d been told that you get a lot more attention as a new consultant from partners because of this
No real difference. They will try harder to sell you and make you sign (no monetary incentives, sorry) If you join another MBB then they don’t care at all.
Curious. Why wouldn't you choose Bain over BCG?
Fair enough from your POV. Although, based on my network I don't see any difference in exit opps & pay at all. McK slightly has the shiny edge, but it's MBB at the end of the day and Bain vs BCG there's no conceivable prestige difference as far as I'm aware. In fact, I've seen Bain folks get slightly more PE opps as well ( but anyone from MBB can get their foot into most roles tbh). Rest is up to you.
So there really is no benefit to receiving multiple offers (outside of whatever gift box Bain will likely send me if I get the offer)?
Interview prep if nothing else
I was in a similar boat, if you are dead set on the firm you already have an offer from, there's really no need to waste yours and others time to keep interviewing. Cancel and start your partying!
I was in the same situation recently after receiving offers from McKinsey and Bain.
I had interviews at BCG scheduled for 2 weeks after the deadline for responding to the McK and Bain offers.
Given that McKinsey was my top choice going into it, and then probably Bain and BCG (but there wasn’t much in it tbh), I decided it was best to let BCG know I was accepting another offer and withdrew from process so as not to waste their time by interviewing for a role I had no intention of taking (plus I’d already taken quite a few days of leave for interviews and felt bad for the effect that having on my colleagues)
I spent a few days deciding between McKinsey and Bain and ultimately picked McK due to the stronger presence in public sector and education, more diverse cases, and the global staffing model.
Part of me thinks that I should have interviewed at BCG to have the chance to learn more about the firm (even if just to confirm my McK decision) but ultimately I think I probably made the right call.
Other than the ‘ego’ point mentioned by others, I don’t think there’s any point interviewing for a role that you you have zero plans in taking.
