How much a project manager should get?
Hi all! I am former federal government. I resigned due to lack of opportunities and growth. I am interested in a couple of Apple service roles within Pay, Care and SDS. Also, Amazon PM roles under Music, Live Sports and Brand Protection. However, with to the current economic conditions is it smarter to focus on fed roles versus Tech. I’ve never had a Tech role. I have a BS Mechanical Engineering and MBA. Any advice would be appreciated.

Base yes, but no signing bonus? I’ve never heard of that. At least $20k would be appropriate imo

I mean I got 10k, and I know I shoulda got more around 15k, but I came in at 140k and OP is a rank above me and at a higher salary, so OP should probably ask for 20-25k and settle for 15-20k
Base seems solid. I’d ask for 20K signing bonus and be happy with 10K.
I make that as a SM so 🙃
Sadly I’m not (business consulting) but in LCOL
That’s an MBA salary out of a target school as a senior

So yes. It's a fair offer offer for OP

6 YOE is a very good offer for a Tier 2 city. That base is within range for those with almost double your experience
Great offer!
Ask for a signing bonus. I have never heard of no signing bonus for any experienced hire. That is usually to offset the lost bonuses at current firm.
Even I did not get any signing bonus when I joined as a senior at EY. But got a decent relocation and negotiated on my base, so I let it go.
Ask for sign on bonus of 25k. Argue you have to sell your shares due to independence and pay significant capital gains tax. EY is a lot more strict than Deloitte because self cleaning isn’t allowed at EY

Meant self clearing
Agree with asking for signing bonus
Definitely solid! That’s a very good base for M1 in tier-2. Also, given that you’re getting M1 with 6 yoe is also great because they slot in a lot of senior-3 with similar experience.
Add 10k signing bonus and it’s good!
I would stay at deloitte unless this is a far better role for you. EYs advisory practice is well not a resume builder.
OP That’s my salary too and that level! Hook me up once you get to EY ✌️
Great for T2 and 6 YOE. Shoot for at least a 5k signing bonus. Congrats!
What does the DET practice do?
Thanks both!
That’s only 5k off from what I make as an SM2 😞
Yes way higher than what D paid me as SM1
Amazing; take it.
It’s good offer. I joined same practice at senior. They did not gave me sign on bonus too🥲
This offer is for which location ?
Chicago
Wow, that’s a good offer. Signing bonuses are hit or miss and you have a recovery agreement if you leave
Companies usually don't enforce them. I left D within two years after getting 25k signing bonus and they never mentioned it in exit procesures, in some states enforcing such clauses are hard legally to take back paid wages or PTO esp in California or Colorado.
One should always insist on signing bonus no matter what to cover the opportunity cost of taking a new role.

This is an amazing offer for your YOE. Congrats!
