I've only been in the industry for a few years + am noticing the same tendencies across agencies. How can I promote change w/out stepping on anyone's toes or being labeled "that black girl"?

Single black female. Late 30s, no kids. Is it better to practice in a smaller market that’s close to major cities, lots of professional opportunities, but no real single professional scene? OR be in a bigger pond/major city with more professional and networking opportunities, oversaturated with lawyers of color, more competition for professional opportunities, but bigger dating pool?

Do you drink or do anything wild at company holiday parties or events? I feel like as one of the only minority associates I have to be extra careful to stay professional. All my white coworkers can talk about is the open bar and how crazy everyone gets...true or false for your company?

I found one of my coworker's anonymous Twitter accounts, and it has a ton of red flags involving bigotry, sexism, etc. It's a personal account, so should I mention it to HR or not?

How do you deal with not getting the desired output from somebody working under you? I think I’ve given enough examples and direction but the work still isn’t where I need it.

I know HR says you should report it but I’m paranoid that if I report a colleague that’s been harassing me, I’ll be viewed as a rat. (Most guys are immature/harmless but he’s actually being malicious)

A partner I work for keeps asking for ETA's on assignments I have already submitted to the senior associate on the deal for review. Does it sound like I'm throwing the senior associate under the bus if I say I have already submitted to senior associate and am waiting for feedback? I feel like the partner will get upset at me even more if my answer sounds like I haven't submitted the assignment to the senior associate yet.

I work part time for a startup for equity and am attending an event on behalf of the startup. I’ve only been here a few months and asked multiple times to have a prep meeting with my boss. He instead sent me a 15 page document outlining 40 questions I should be able to answer the day before the event.
I’m so incredibly stressed as I don’t want to show up unprepared and make myself look bad. Idk how to make light of this situation at this point

I use worked at Crossmedia, they over compensate with perks to hide their lack of organization. Be careful of the people that smile and laugh in your face because they are the ones calling you names behind your back. I had to leave because one I wasn’t properly trained making it stressful and it was such a bad vibe especially hearing my Director calling people idiots and other distasteful names.

I am so sick and fed up with some of the older clients at my job. I know it's my responsibility to take care of them, but they're just so sexist sometimes.
