For me, I think “pay yourself first” is the most important. It forces me to save money first so I wouldn’t need to worry about making a budget for expenses, since I can see how much “disposable” money I have to spend.

I just started this recently. Each month, I allocate $1k of my pay to my brokerage acct and $1k to HYSA (to buy property). I max out 401k and do backdoor roth. And save all my bonus. So each yr, it’s around 70k: 24k + 20k + 6k + 20k bonus.

How’s the axtria compensation? The HR reached out saying we can’t pay more than 30% in hike but I wouldn’t agree on that. Just wanted to know if they’ll repent after interviews or is it a hard and fast rule?

I work in a firm that is known for litigation defense. I’ve been developing my own plaintiffs practice as well. I am able to pay the bills with my hourly defense work, which gives me time to focus on a handful of high value PI case a year on contingency. Just graduated with Aerospace Engineering degree. I am interviewing for multiple positions at once with different companies. One gave me an offer and they want me to get back to them within 2 days. I still have other interviews scheduled and some for higher paying jobs (around 90k) What should I do?
I do like the company that gave me an offer but their base pay was 80k and they went up to 85k. Is asking for them to match the 90k too much? The position is associate systems engineer.

MIS Junior here. Should I graduate next May and start working or get my Masters in MIS and have 1 more internship? I’m an MS Management Student graduating in June 2023. I applied to over 40 positions within the Big 4/MBB and even with extensive networking, I haven’t heard back from any really. I have an offer from a pretty well-known but less prestigious Consulting Firm, but I’m wondering what my chances even are of going Big 4/MBB if I’m not a campus hire. Will they even consider me for an experienced hire a year or two down the road if they showed no interest this time? Any advice welcome!
