PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

This is what i did 6 months back
Mentioned my date of joining to 15 days gave interviews and got job confident .Then changed ny notice period to 60 days and started applying in all company portals and naukri and once i got the job mentioned that my joining will be in 90 days and Previously i was on bench and now i got a project so acc to company policy i will have to serve 90 days and they prolonged the total to 90 days and released the offer letter
I will tell you my story,
I also had 3 month notice period, So I took a risk and resigned before the offer having hand, I had full confidence to get a job in 3 months, and I also had back plan for 2 months if I didn't get a job
In 1 month I gave almost 10 interviews and analyzed the current market, what to learn, and what good to have, 2 months I get 1 offer so no I am secure my job in 3rd month I get a good offer and lots of interviews I gave
So if you plan you can do it 3 months,
This is my second time serving 3 months notice period
What if the recruiter asks why did you resign without any offer in hand? Happened with me. I made up some story but could not convince them as they thought I am some under performing employee and i might have been terminated.
This is ninja technique What you can do mention you can join within 45 days …also same you can update on Naukri portal 🙂
Which tech stackk did he work
Have you already resigned??? If not then I would suggest you to wait a bit since the market has just started to get better. N when you resign wait for 1 month then start applying and tell recruiter that u have 1 month np, since getting the first offer will take atleast 1 week if u are lucky or around 2 weeks.
I would first get atleast one baseline offer from a good company where I can securely move.. and if it's a good organisation, they will be okay with 90day notice..
Don't be on a compromised state of serving notice and not having ANY offer in hand
HRs will low ball you to an extent in such scenarios and give you much less of a deal/package than you could have achieved otherwise
Lastly, 90day notice actually turns out fun IFF, you got a stable baseline offer and you able to secure multiple offers on top of it..
If you got skills and impressive resume.. you get it..
I have myself got it.. as well as some other colleagues
Update your LinkedIn and Naukri profile as Serving Notice Period | 89 days left.
Your profile may get highlighted at-least.
Put serving notice period on profile get offer, resign get second offer decline first offer. done.
Serving notice period almost always works without issues.
Same here.. 90 days NP have made the job search in today's market hell.
+1
Even for 1 month I am not getting calls
I believe we need to wait for a while atleast till October
Stay strong brother I will pray that you and me will get good opportunities 🙂🙂
If you are working in IBM, notice period can be negotiated in several ways. I am serving 45days of Notice Period.
If your manager is ready, there should not be a problem. Check AskHR, there are multiple ways like trading with Earned Leaves etc.
I'm a pretty senior resource (15 YoE). I just told my manager, 45 days of Notice Period with Full Commitment to project or 90 days with No Commitment, choice is yours! He chose 45 days.
Same problem here. Everyone knows TCS has 90 days NP and even if I tell them it can be negotiated, they are not ready to schedule interviews
Earned leaves means timeoff time = vacation?
Bro I have 1 month notice period, still not getting calls.
Seems like the market is quite down.
I'll wait for a few months before resigning, I want to switch so bad.
Please update your naukri daily and use daily 50 jobs quota of naukri....then add all tech keywords in your profile from your tech stack in all sections , also reply to recruiters mails daily...it will help you to get sufficient calls.
One more thing you are serving notice period you do not have any offer 🤔
Option 1. : - Negotiate with your manager or ask your manager to release from your project
Option 2 :- Look buy out option
Option 3 :- tell 30 days only after getting offer extend it (you have to manage it wisely )
Option 4 :- give a resign if not working out in 3 month then take it back your resign (make this confidential between you and your manager)
Only option 2 looks viable. But unfortunately not every company provides that(atleast mine doesnt) Option 4 has 50-50 chance to work. Apart from that others have the probability of working 1 in 100.
90 days notice can be blessing in disguise if market condition is good.you can give resignation and you will definitely receive call when update as serving notice period in job portals, you will have multiple options and you can negotiate well.
Rising Star
I can share my experience. I have 90 days NP too. Initially I gave 2 interviews and got selected but due to NP despite having a good hike they have not released an offer
Later got cleared at PWC but they low bowled me so declined .
Later got offer from Accenture but that is too with less hike accepted but not resigned. I kept patience and got Infosys offer with almost 70+ hike as I was already underpaid.
Based on this I resigned and now getting daily 15-20 calls for interview.
But I am taking only those with WFH and better compensation.
#Summary - Try to get offer from any ot the MNC or big4 even if it is small hike just to put your papers down. Then we can hunt for the desired Offer.
NP is inversely proportional to number or calls we will get.
hey hi i need help im currently in tcs and stuck in bad situation can you please provide a way through which i can contact you
You go on notice when you have an offer. I am on notice after getting multiple calls.
Keywords, keywords are the GOAT.
If you put correct and apt keywords in your resume, you'll be able to pull calls and offer.
Get the first offer from TCS
they ask you to join in 120 days (which they could even postpone later)
Rising Star
in my case manager keep on forcing for return to office even i am having personal issues and need some time. so kept resignation its only 30 days left now i am getting calls there is nothing to worry, definitely opportunities comes but we need to flexible on hike % as every org has their own budget concerns
