A bit naive but I like your sentiment. Thing is, most folks have absolutely no visibility of the business equation behind their salary or how to optimize for it. Specifically, if you pay an EP $180k and she oversees a $20 million portfolio, cuts production costs by 8% to improve margin, installs ISO or Kanban to reduce waste & confusion, creating trust with clients who ultimately sign over more business. That's money well spent and a future VP/Director. The issue of "price fixing" ourselves is, that if I'm strong, why the F do I want my salary to be dictated by those who are barely average? On the contrary, shitty teams and agencies will hire children and pay them as little as possible. But ultimately, that work is shit. So go figure.

Uh, I'm too naive to understand your post SP1 but I'd say let's just raise the standard - shitty teams get paid a lot, and good ones get paid a ton. Done and done.
