I'm just here to say I am so sorry OP. As a native born American I am ashamed of what is happening. Best wishes on everything.
I’m so sorry to hear this OP. It’s been a common theme recently. One possible way I can help is we are always looking for good talent in the NZ firm and visas tend to be much easier to secure. If you’re looking for a bit of a life change we are a small but mighty member firm. Flick me a note at lfoster@deloitte.co.nz if this is of interest to you or anyone else you know in this situation.
Yeah!! Thanks all!! All the career effort goes down the drain in an instant. I was building to go on deck for SM this year and now might have to uproot and start from scratch elsewhere.
Deloitte1 - they did apply or start the process in March 2018. Paperwork took time and got a rfe 6-8weeks back. All combined the rejection came through now.
I heard they got rid of Rfe. Many cases now go straight to rejection without the opportunity to provide more evidence. I’m so sorry, OP.
While you contact the law firm I’d also recommend that you start contacting your PPMDs to see if they can help you connect with other Member Firms (maybe Canada). You can go there for a year and come back on L1 visa
Manager 2 - Home base Boston
Manager 3 - AWESOME!!! This is great and I was hoping someone had been in the same boat with a reapplication which went through. Current Visa valid through Nov 20, hence there is definitely time for a reapplication.
Good luck OP! Push to get the application in premium(Before Sept 11). I’m not sure if it’s possible because it needs a new LCA too. But try to get that through
This administration is dangerous for brown skin tone... wishing to see the day when browns can be independent, as they have to depend for now because they were robbed for long time by...
Good Luck OP!
OP, sorry this is happening to you. Some good advise here already.
1. Work with legal to refile and try ways to stay
2. Work with PPMD to connect with partner firms. Going to Canada and coming back on L1 is good option
3. Find supplemental solution - move to NZ, UK, Australia,...where they (govt) actually value you.
All the best
OP - I’m sorry for you and worried about the same for me as I near my H1B extension. I’m also sorry to shatter your hopes that that GGC will be anymore transparent now that you have a rejection. They still will not share the reason for denial. They’ll quote “ can’t share per Deloitte’s policy” which no PPMD i spoke with can make sense of. This happened to my friend and folks
on my team. I have strong reasons to suspect that they hide behind the said “policy” to cover their incompetencies. I also suspect, and hoping someone with knowledge can confirm or deny this, that GGC get paid by D based on the number of ‘cases’ which creates incentive for GGC to create more than needed 'cases’ with each RFE response or reapplication counted as a new case. I admit that this is speculation or even conspiracy theory-esque on my part. But their (GGC) advice to file a new LCA and hence H1B amendment since D changed offices in SFO, led me to believe this. USCIS clearly says that one does not need to file LCA as long as they are still working in same MSA.
Mu Yy strikes again!!
What does the reason say ? Extra documentation needed ?
No clue. Law firm yet to send a note, unless there is a way to tell using through the uscis site..
Current I40 expires Nov 20, so might have some runway to reapply, etc. But slightly perturbed about having to uproot everything at such short notice hence trying to plan alternatives
OP.... if your i140 expires on Nov 20 why dint the law firm file your extension earlier ? From what I have heard it can be done 6 months prior to the expiration date.
Thanks Director1. Have made a note and will reach out once I know more on next steps.
Good luck op. I see a few good backup options. As someone indicated, no more rfe's. Hope your reapplication gets thru.
Immigration process is such bullsh!t and I am so sorry this is happening to you OP. I hope you can stay but if not it’s our loss and I hope things work out for you either way. Immigration in the US is so painful in so many ways that it’s beyond stupid. We should be doing better.
Missed the most important part. Don’t give up OP and be very persistent with the firm and GGC. Don’t settle for their first offer i.e. take temporary transfer to USI. No surprise here but the more and influential PPMDs support you the better. Think RISL (or whatever the role is now called if different) and other leaders. Firm refiled for my friend which got denied again then the firm tried third time, this time after moving him to delivery track and on a long term (4+ years) local project, and that was approved. So it did work out for my friend but he had to compromise with track and it was harrowing experience to say the least. Also lost thousands of dollars as he was without pay for few months and lost insurance for him n family. Apology for being a downer here - came back fo FB this morning to share with you what I know and give you hope but it didn’t come out cheery as I had hoped. Being honest here. Again, apology for that. From what i see is you have two choices: either show middle finger to the current immigration system and move to another countries like Canada, NZ, Australia, any country in Europe; or go through the stress of hustling for next few months for hopefully better outcome. Good luck mate.
Premium has been suspended only for new roles and company transfers. Extensions within same job role and company can still continue under premium processing.
They won’t tell anything. My wife going through the same. She got an RFE on second extension attempt as well after first one was denied. They are ruining people’s lives here without any regret.
I’m wondering if this is a GGS thing? I’ve seen some EY and PwC RFEs and rejections on here but Deloitte seems to be exceptionally bad.
OP... My advice would be: download the petition and get a consult from a third party lawyer as to what potentially went wrong. Do your lawyers use INSZoom? If so there should be significant transparency.
