Even though handwritten notes are nice I'd have to say email. Who knows how often they check their mailbox.
Honestly, I've never really considered whether or not someone's sent a thank you note until one shows up (email or handwritten). If you're one of the top candidates, I'm more concerned that HR's going to be able to make the deal.
I would take more note of a handwritten one, though. I'd be impressed that someone still knew how to use a pen.
I prefer QR codes on outdoor bus shelters outside my agency.
I don't care. Such a needless formality.
I write a quick thanks via email and then follow by sending a card as well (when the person is high up in the company)
Both. No one has ever NOT gotten hired because of a written thank you
Depends how much I want to suck up, but usually just an email.
Email is great. I find hand written notes over the top and like someone’s trying way too hard for something I don’t care about. Usually creatives don’t care, I’d say. Maybe account people appreciate it more since shmoozing is way more part of the job (which I admire them for). Hand written note is ok if it’s accompanying a gift that is meaningful (I once got a t shirt with the company’s name on it...i was like wtf).
I prefer hand written because it shows you give a shit and went beyond firing off an email. It stands out because of that, IMO. Made a final hire decision on someone based on that when two candidates were dead even a few years ago.
My decision is made before the day is over. Handwritten notes are nice but can often come too late.
