I just passed my 1-year mark of accounting in June, and now I’m interviewing for accounting manager positions. What are some good questions to ask to stand out and also help get a grasp of the situation I could be walking into. Like how would I know operations might be a mess? For some background: I work in sports and hospitality. My previous position was hourly AP work but I made a lot of changes on the operations side and reporting that we do as well.

Was asked for a system design follow up interview with Meta, any advice? What conclusions folks draw when called for a follow-up?

Hi I just pass screening with the recruiter and would have my first interview in a couple of weeks, I would like to know if that 45mins interview will be behavioural and Product design only or should I expect anything else?

So, a recruiter sent me a HackerRank assessment and I went to complete it and it was so easy? Is this a red flag or a shit test or something? Like there was a number sequence: “1234567”, and it corresponded to a word: “Surgeon”. Then it was the word: “Snore”, which corresponded to “36425”. and then I had to figure out the number that corresponded to: “Rogue”. It just seemed too easy, why even have it besides creating another barrier to a possible offer? Should I tread carefully here?

Has anyone ever had to prepare a creative brief based on a fictional campaign prompt as part of their interview process? I’m doing one right now but find it to be a rather strange exercise...

1st year Assoc in a small comm lit firm with 6 attorneys. Sole proprietor partner who is early/mid 70s. Literally doesn’t have or use a computer(like ever🙄). He has to have EVERYTHING printed from him including his emails which he is CC’d on everything me and my coworker send out. Openly racist (he’s Jewish too) and absolute pos to everyone who works for him. We also use PAPER files for him w/ company drive. They never wfh even during start of Covid. No access to emails. Tax senior with CPA at small firm. Best way to get to Big 4 audit? (LA or OC) Went to non-target so little to no alumni at B4. I don’t mind the switch to a lower title since audit was always my preference and was never a fan of tax (stayed local for family).

Does anyone have experience or know of someone who went on a FWA (part-time) but didn't have kids? I'm unmarried and no kids but considering a move to 30 or so hrs/week for my sanity.

So I'm not a top performer. Definitley not the smartest guy at big 4. But some of the questions I get from very experienced seniors are just so basic.
