Yes. 100% I’ve been there. I even put my dog in her crate because she kept waking me up every 30-45 minutes wanting to go out. I felt like a monster but I desperately needed sleep. She was on medications that caused her to go through a bad period and that particular night was out of control. We survived that night and it never was as bad again but I hated myself for yelling at her and crating her. We’re human and we try but we also screw up. Our pets forgive us because they love us. We just have to remember to forgive ourselves for yelling and reacting.
Well said.
A key difference between dogs and humans: dogs don’t keep a grudge, their love is unconditional. That’s what makes them so lovable; dogs I mean…😂
As long as you go back home with a treat, make it up with a pupper only time this evening, a car ride and trip to the dog park, you are excused.
😢
Pro
I'll yell at anyone or anything when my sleep is interrupted 😂 I get so cranky when overtired. Luckily a dog has a short term memory for that sort of thing.
Jillian could win an acting award when I trim her nails. She puts on this wide eyed, horror movie look. When the vet trims her nails they all come back to tell me how good she is.

It happens. What matters is that you still love each other anyway. 🤗
Well, I love her. Last night might have changed her feelings about me😝
Yikes! I feel badly for both of you.
Whenever my pups wake me in the middle of the night, I know they aren’t feeling well or something is wrong in the house. If she wakes you regularly during the night, you might want to consider a trip to the vet.
I will be keeping an eye on it, for sure. I know something was amiss, but she ate well this morning and played as hard as ever, thankfully.
It’s ok it happens. Not the worst lol. It is hard having pets. My dog has woke me up at like 3 or 4 in the morning but it’s not often. Maybe like once or twice a year and it’s always because she has to go to the bathroom so I just take her out lol.
I have a very well trained and titled German shepherd and I yell at her often! Don't feel bad!
I had a full summer like this. Didn’t tell but lots of tears because every night was a problem. Took her to the vet and she had a yeast infection. If this is abnormal and happens again, maybe have her checked out. I felt like the biggest jerk. Didn’t yell but was very unhappy and focused on my lack of sleep while she was struggling.
Awww….yes I will watch for a pattern, as this was very unusual for her.
I haven't, but my husband has definitely yelled at our pups when they push him over the edge; he's their primary caretaker, so I get that. They always love him so much anyway.
It’s a part and parcel of dog parenting. No need to feel sad.
Honestly, this is the reason I’ll never get a dog of my own. It’s fun to have them but I feel they are too much work.
I have had a dog since my parents brought me home from the hospital and my grandmother gave me her teacup chihuahua. It slept in my crib (and bit anyone who put a hand near me). I love having a dog.
I yell at my dog to STFU a lot. He really only barks when either I need to focus or while I’m on a call. He’s very forgiving. Treat, hug or walk fixes everything 😂
Been there, done that. Don’t let this get to you but use it as a chance and a lesson for a new day. Life is full of challenges and stresses and we’re all capable of acting in ways that do not represent us. You are a good dog parent for thinking on it.
Only once, approx. one year after I adopted Jillian. I found out that she has a very, very long memory when she is chastised. It was good for me to learn, but . . . If you are a monster, I am a monster. Yes, I remember the look in her eyes.
Sometimes it has to be done. I just did it to my own dog. 1st time I ever yelled at her but she was very nasty and almost bit my friend thinking that she was going to take her toy

Sometimes I have to yell because they are MMA wrestling and I can feel the house shaking. It is like having two teenagers at times.
