Do you mean as a staff asking for a raise, or the yearly comp adjustment? For the yearly comp adjustment, I’ve never seen someone successfully increase their comp adjustment after it’s been presented. If they tell you to write a letter or some other communication with someone higher up in the firm to present your business case it’s a waste of your time, I wouldn’t bother. It is what it is, if you don’t feel you’re being compensated fairly then it’s time to leave.

I should say though, I do appreciate the optimistic and positive take on it, but kind of hard to shrug off people trying to make money when, for some people, our pay is something we work hard for and actually need

Yeah he said they would give me a number I would be pleasantly surprised to see. I saw it and was throughly disappointed which led to another conversation. I was like maybe 10k short of what I wanted but I was fine with it.

OP, how was it? I just joined and curious as to what yearly comp adjustment looks like.

Anyone have experience with a Base + RSU only offer from AWS? The base very small, with a 2 year “cash sign on” that brings TC back up to a reasonable level. But after 2 years, your RSUs are fully vested, and TC = Base + RSUs. No additional detail is provided on the value of the RSUs… except for a “Target Total Comp”. Thoughts on this setup?

Newly promoted experienced hire SC making $113k, 10 YOE (switched industries). Got an offer from TCS in an Advisory practice (not the tech sweatshop stuff that I keep seeing people mention). Base salary is $190k and in TCS equivalent of a M role. Downside to taking the salary hike and boomeranging back to D in ~2 years? FYI - I have 2 kids, so that kind of pay raise is kind of a big deal.

Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!
