Szia! I have not but some friends have and it seems fairly straightforward as long as you can easily prove the ancestry link. Knowing even a small bit of Hungarian helps speed up the process.
This is such an interesting question. I’m first generation with very direct ties, I’ll ask my mom and see if she knows about this! Szervusz!

I have no idea honestly, but I’m curious what the appeal is? Is it to get a Schengen passport or you’d consider spending some time there? It’s a beautiful country for sure, I’ve visited a few times but the current political climate definitely would turn me off becoming a citizen, and the language is notoriously near impossible to master.
Mostly to get a Schengen passport. Would like to eventually live/work in Europe, and that will make it a lot easier.

I’d go for it. Having two or more passports is awesome.
Does this work for Germany? My grandmother migrated after the war, but I suspect her and her family were supporters of some not very chill things that happened around that time.
Depends on the country. Some don't allow dual citizenship, which is naturally a must for me, otherwise I'd apply for Austria which I think allows it too.
