Help- my SIL showed me two dresses she rented for my shower, and I think they are super bridal/not very appropriate to wear as a guest or bridesmaid. I have asked others and they agree. There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

Do you think resume past behaviour is really a predator for future behaviour ? To me there has to be more psychological statistic on this to ring true as all work variable differ for each workplace, including performance expectations, tasks and evaluations.

How bad is it to leave an understaffed team right before fall busy for a job in a new city? Part of me doesn’t care at all b/c it’s a business decision, part feels like I’m totally screwing the team.

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

This has been the story of my career. Have superior experience - stellar reviews - people fighting to get on to my team because our team is great and I treat everyone well. This is so frustrating. Again and again, it’s a culture of parents helping other parents. No gays in upper level mgmt in our office.

What was the hardest class year for you? I used to think first year was by far the hardest but now I’m a third year and I’m really feeling the pressure to step up. I work in finance and at this point I’m expected to handle closing documents, manage first years, draft some portions of major docs, etc. I feel like I’m always frazzled, constantly second guessing if I handled something correctly and anxious to answer calls from clients/OC.
