Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Privileged view. It’s a mixed bag. The recruiters are just trying to make a buck and the companies may not have experience doing it in-house. PwC was one of the worst experiences I have had and it’s a big name. KPMG was better and it was smaller.
Yea so a lot of them are 1099 or head hunters. They don’t have the technical skills but they give u a straight line in. At Kpmg a head hunter got me an offer from Goldman when they’d turn me down regularly. I have had other ghost me or submit me for roles that don’t make sense. It’s mixed like most things in the world.
