Has anyone moved from FDD to AAS, etc. and enjoyed it? My dilemma right now is I like FDD's work, but the unpredictability and short timelines of M&A work make me miserable.

I feel like AAS-type groups should have less of that. Ideally, I'd like to work on projects where I'm helping private cos develop processes for reporting and making sense of their finances to go public over a 3ish month period. Is that realistic in AAS or is it just technical accounting memos with no spreadsheets/numbers

AAS is just as unpredictable, you often work on the same transactions. Timelines are generally better but your description of the work isn’t very accurate

I chose FDD over AAS after doing a rotation in both. Even though I liked the FDD work more, I chose AAS because the hours were more predictable and liked the people more. There are technical accounting memos, but there’s also building pro forma financial statements for going public/acquisition which is pretty excel heavy

Yes I chose AAS over FDD after doing about a 6 month rotation in both when I started in Deal
Advisory. Pro forma financial statement development and carve out work are the most excel rather than technical accounting heavy imo

Can someone walk me through the Do's and Don't's of AA miles? I think they're a joke.

I have 65k miles and I could only pay for a one-way ticket from PHX-JFK. I had to book 1 leg with miles and the 1 with cash, but booking the other leg in cash was about 80% of the round trip in cash.

My mom has 12k miles that expire soon, transferring them would cost me $450. I can pay for a round trip with that cash but I can only pay for a trip to my kitchen with those 12k miles.

What am I doing wrong? 😂

Wtf is going on? I had to get my w2’s and patchchecks to validate, but I am hoping that my background check doesn’t take longer than a week…curious if anyone has gone through HireRight before
