Has anyone noticed that a good amount of recruiters at shops like Selby Jennings, etc., have IB experience? For instance, recruiter reached out to me and has 2.5 years as an analyst at Wells Fargo.

Why would anyone switch from IB into recruiting? More bonus potential (getting paid % of placed persons salary) and less stress/hours?

Please give me a rough estimate on how much hike we can expect in my annual salary revision. I expected 8LPA when I joined. They gave me 5LPA with a promise of revision in 3months after joining. They inc it to 7.75LPA after 4m and during appraisal cycle gave 25k 11months to make it to 8LPA. In Oct my hike is due, so I would to like negotiate my hike. Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.

What do we think is going to happen with student loan deferral? Any recent new grads thinking they’re going to pay back any time soon? Some argue Biden is going to keep pushing interest pause til next election then forgive 10k as a strategy to help get re-elected? I only have 15k to pay and can pay it anytime, but no incentive to when that money can be earning more elsewhere in the meantime, thoughts on what is really going to happen?

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP.
