I got offer on Citiustech Healthcare Technologies
May I know how WLB in this company, I see in glassdoor and ambitions contains positive and negative. Is it worth to join? Is it useful for me to enhance my career for long run? How about the retention pay? If we leave the company we need to pay entire retention pay?I have other wipro and CTS, which company is better to join?

I took about 9 months off. It was mostly pros and I don’t regret it. When I reflect back, I can only think of the pros. The cons are that it’s expensive and there’s no income coming in during that time. And adjusting back to work after not working was also difficult. It’s always challenging to start a new job, to get up to speed quickly and prove your value, but this has the added stress of readjusting.
Thanks for sharing. I can see the struggle when returning. I think it would bring a new perspective to things and view on the world. I don’t want to look back and regret not taking the chance.
No regrets except that I came back to my old company to a similar role as before (path of least resistance). I should have kept looking or truly pivoted out into something new even if it had an opportunity cost associated with it.
I think that my choices afterwards hindered my progression. It took me a couple of years to get back to the level and was and progress further. I don’t think the break itself hindered me at all. Especially bc I was able to speak to some freelance/startup projects that I completed while I was off from corporate. I aimed to stay somewhat relevant while focusing the majority of my time off on true passion projects/hobbies. When it was time to come back- I got nervous too quickly about being “unemployed” or out of the industry so chose something easy without giving myself the opportunity to really explore other opportunities. At the time I rationalized to myself that it was short term and a stepping stone. The reality is when job hunting- I learned during this period- is that you’re only as good as your last role. The break and free lance projects were a better story to pivot myself and career into something new rather than a similar role to what I last did in corporate. I should have been patient and dove into something else rather than taken the first easy job I got. And then my second mistake was staying in that comfort level too long. Again no regrets about the break- it did not hinder me- my decisions driven by fear and the comfort of a paycheck (after not having any for a bit) thereafter did.
