I'm an immigrant from Brazil and I'm evaluating my civil engineering degree and starting from scratch.
I did internship in civil engineering during the entire period of college and worked another year after graduating, which totaled 6 years of experience. I would like to know how the job market is like for immigrants in the field of civil engineering in the US and what advice would you give to someone who is starting over and improving in this area?

Do creative directors have to manage people?
I don’t like managing people, especially juniors who are still figuring out their career paths. But at my company, in order to be considered a leader, you have to manage people. I see myself as a leader, contributing ideas and strategy… I just don’t want to deal with developing performance goals and compensation. Is this the case everywhere? I don't like working here at all, but I am not sure whether moving out again in a month will give bad Impression on my resume. Hence please give me advice on this situation

How would you ask to transfer to another office within your firm?

I lateraled from one firm in city A to another firm city B. During the interview process, I made a big deal about how I badly I wanted to be in B, despite only being barred in A. They hired me, paid for my bar courses, the works.

Now I find myself in a position where I need to leave B due to personal issues. Thinking of going to DCso I can just waive in.

It's been less than a year since I've joined; is it too soon to ask this?

Have any of you ladies managed to get over an ex after being hung up on them for years? My ex and I broke up two years ago but I still think about him every day. While the pain has become much more bearable, it’s never gone away. Will it ever?

Leaving my (London, big US) firm; HR has sent me various confirmations they are asking me to sign “before my last day”: I haven’t taken any docs, am aware of my regulatory obligations, don’t have any claims against the firm, have returned everything I need to return etc etc etc. This feels like an obvious try-on: the firm isn’t paying me anything to sign, my reg obligations are unaffected by it etc. How do others manage these? Just walk out on last day?

Should I try to sign the 185 offer and try to see if I even get offer with MS and let the poly play out or should I just not worry about it and sign the current offer? I am pretty sure the compensation from MS is great.
