Hello! I recently applied for a Travel Procurement Senior Manager role at PwC (role is in NYC and I’m not NYC-based but I believe certain roles can be primarily remote). I have 5+ years of experience in this field and the description/company culture seem like a perfect match to what I’m looking for. Are there any fish from PwC and/or their talent acquisition team that can provide a reference post-submission and insight on the hiring process? Thanks!!

Still do client billable time, but don’t have to record everything else. Snack boxes & cocktail deliver (have been great). Every other week one blackout day off—no questions asked.
Wow. This makes me want to pack up and move to Austin. Not the culture in NY.
Did away with 8 hour requirement for workdays. As long as you bill 40 hours in a week, you can work them whenever (can step away from your desk for hours in the middle of the day) Cons: as a junior person I’m always working 50+ hours, but at least the thought of freedom is there?
Our agency now locks us out of our email if we haven’t done our timesheets so... no?
Wait - seriously?
72 immediately introduced “screen siesta” from noon to one. It’s generally respected. Client meetings will crash it but for the most part you get to be human for that hour.

Nope. Some cliche platitudes in monthly agency calls “don’t forget to take time for yourself” but essentially double the normal workload due to layoffs and clients in crisis.
The unspoken direction is just buckle up and shut up and be thankful you have a job.
Which I am. But. Essentially working every waking hour.
No back up for “vacation/time off” so you just downsize a little to “important meetings only” which maybe shorten the workday a bit. But vacation now means work a bit less.
Do we work together???
I’m burned out of so many things, but mostly having to look at myself in that small WebEx window. You can see my soul leaking out of my ears. The only solution my company offers is more WebEx team building event (that are ‘optional’ but not really).
We also do no meetings after 4 (unless it’s an emergency)
We got a free Headspace subscription
No.
1. Wellness Wednesday’s - no meetings after 1 (enforced- even with clients for the most part)
2. Food delivery service
3. Everyone is encouraged to block off their calendars when they need to (no questions asked)
4. Still track hours but it’s pretty lax. Bill what billable hours you work but don’t need to track anything else.

OP- We take off days as a group, pre-aligned on with our clients (who have been incredibly supportive and immediately said yes - who said relationships are dead?).
Found that this works better than anything else because no one falls behind... and then is stressed about catching up. A true day of disconnect. We do it 1-2 days a month.
We do all the other stuff too but this has made a difference.
Brilliant. Thanks D2
to avoid burnout, simply hire freelancers
That would be great but our budgets have been slashed to zero.
Become a contractor. I can’t recommend it enough.
I got hired because of this post covid because they don’t want to pay benefits
No
Nope. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..
My guys work 8.5 hour days most days.
I had a few days go 8 to 6 this week. It was a busy week!
Rising Star
Wow. I’ve never had that even in the best of times.
Good on your agency! I’d love to know more!
