Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

Use it for hotel travel and expense it
PayPal? You send it to a friend and they send it back. From what I’ve heard never tried it though
Why not just use it to shop? Get full value. Otherwise, Raise.com sells gift cards but not sure if they transact Amex GCs
If these are things you might be getting more of in the future (or from awards), consider buying a square, setting yourself up as the vendor, and then paying that amount to you. You’ll lose a few percent on the transaction plus the initial cost of the device, though you could sell it later theoretically
Buy a money order at the post office and then cash it. It’s basically the same as manufactured spend
Thank you all. I don't expect too many of these. But I feel like I lose the 3.75% minimum cashbacks that I get on every purchase when I pay with a credit card if I use the gift card instead.
From what I hear pay order requires a debit card with a code which the gift card doesn't have. So it's either PayPal or using it to pay at a hotel (can probably get away with it once or twice).
OP - Then it makes sense for you; I use the gift cards to pay bills since I get 1.5% for those, which is less than the 3% that cost me to use PayPal.
TK1 - last time I tried PayPal charged me the 3% for Amex gift card. Maybe user error. Will try next time and see.
