Gees, 50-60 hours a week all year? For $115k even fully remote that doesn’t seem very attractive.
Because it’s a start-up, I recommend looking into how the benefits offering looks like so you understand the full total rewards, not just comp. Also, these days I look at the base from an hourly perspective. Say if your previous base was 100k and you work 40 hours a week, you’re making ~48/hour. To at least make the same hourly rate, you’ll need to make, on an annual basis, ~125k for 50 hours/week job and ~150k for a 60 hours.
Seems about right for Florida. I would expect $145,000-$155,000 in San Francisco or NYC, $130,000-$140,000 in other major cities, $120,000 for a lower cost of living city. I would recommend negotiating a sign-on bonus to get you to $120k/$125k.
Why 50-60 hours a week?
It’s at a startup company. So i guess there’s a lot of work to go around. I say 50-60 hours a week because that’s what the controller said she works currently when I interviewed.
That’s exactly what I make and work in fl as a cpa public accounting manager
