Have an interview for a strat consulting traineeship at KPMG. 30min interview + 1.5h case study, any tips or pointers I should focus on before the interview? I have an extremely international background, and thus want to pursue consulting internationally further on. Is wanting an international career at the same firm something that should be mentioned in the interview or can it be viewed negatively in case they want to keep hires at the office Im interviewing for.

Does anyone like ID work? Currently doing work at a PI/Medmal plaintiffs firm while in school and trying to figure out where I’ll be happiest post-grad. Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?

During interviews, how do you talk about the “result” or “impact” of a consulting project you were on? I know how to talk about the problem/recommendation portion of a sample project but the result/impact, I mean, as consultants we don’t see recommendations executed and actually generating results. So how do you talk about it?

A manager I work with is my official mentor at the firm. They expected me to do something for them in busy season when I was booked on another client, but when I try to get time to talk to them about my reviews or performance, they seem to just ignore my invites or reschedule constantly and last minute.
