Have an introductory call with a recruiter for a firm I am very interested in. I am 3.5 months pregnant. Should I disclose to the recruiter?

Wait until you have the offer, at the very least. You might also be able to negotiate better maternity leave depending on their policies (e.g., if you have to be there for a year before taking paid leave).

Nope

No, I would definitely wait to see if there is interest from the firm and let things progress before disclosing.

Thank you!!

Be prepared to get snubbed and not staffed on matters when you return. Happened to an associate at one of my previous firms who hid her pregnancy at 9 months during the interview process, started and delivered a day later. Most people wait until they return from leave to explore new opportunities. Chances are this firm will have other related opening again at some point. I would wait.

I don’t know. Depends on the group and the leader.

I am a first year who just started a couple of months ago and I am literally confused all the time. I did some small work for two partners and they loved it, so put me on new deals but the mid levels I am staffed with absolutely hate the work I do. One said the work I did was laughable. I felt bed because I spent over 25 hours on this. I wouldn’t be very bothered but the other Associates in my class are killing it. So I just feel dumb all the time.

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. I am also looking to relocate to a different state. How do I go about properly marketing myself to companies that might not take my relocation and minimal experience seriously?
