I thought about changing industries but not leaving the engineering field. I usually find a part-time job or venture into some entrepreneurship activity to keep myself out of boredom.
I don't actually know where I fit in outside this industry so I never did think about it. Maybe just a change in company or role.
Maybe find a side hustle that piques your interest and creativity to keep you stimulated? I wouldn't think about leaving without any life-altering reason.
Another way to think of your job is as a “good enough” job. Whatever dreams or goals you have for yourself, use this job to fund it since the pay great.
Nope. I haven't thought about it. I always consider myself blessed with the kind of job I have now. It pays well and I can wfh.
I have always loved my job. It never crossed my mind changing career or leaving my engineering job. I've been working as an engineer for 12 years and may be until the day I retire.
