Can you give 2 weeks and help with the transition / documenting what you do without carrying the weight of your role anymore? Will that be enough space for your now full time hustle?
Can you give notice and use accrued vacation for most of it?
Given that it is toxic, I'm inclined to say get out best you can regardless. Just know hr may blacklist you in that one company due to no 2 weeks notice.
I did it. I was worried it would come back to bite me, but it's been almost a decade and had no fall out.
Always leave gracefully. Congrats with the side gig success!
I quit JPMorgan chase and JPMorgan security with a text I’m done because managers were idiots! And I’m could no longer work under such idiots
Check the details of your contract - they may require 2 weeks notice.
Curious, what’s your side hustle?
Always good to leave professionally. How HR deals with it is irrelevant because they are so limited with what they can say if a prospective employer calls to get a reference for a former employee.
However, our industry is very small, and unless your side hustle is taking you out of it, it’s best to leave on good terms. Perhaps they will just show you the door when you give notice, so you won’t have to tough it out. Or you might have a new outlook on the culture, knowing that you’ll soon be leaving it. Either way, even after I’ve given notice, I’d you find it’s unbearable, just leave. At least you’ll have tried to have a professional departure.
