I don't know your age, I know you're just trying to get a benchmark for this crazy business, and I'm not calling you out specifically, but this question is a perfect example of why us grizzled old folks struggle with millennials. You do a good job on something one time and expect immediate praise and advancement.
I work in new biz, seldom does this occur. It's a great opportunity for junior members to be exposed to senior leadership, but we do 10-30 pitches a year, if we promoted everyone that played a role we'd be broke by June. Enjoy the experience and take credit for your role, but don't feel slighted or expect a promotion

Yeah, pitching business is technically part of the job, not a promotion specific tool.
Agree SVP,GAD1 and AD1. Pitching and winning new biz is not grounds for promotion or a raise. It would be nice but it's part of the job. You HAVE to pitch and win new biz to stay in biz. Even if you were key in winning the biz, good for you. You might have job security now, and a reputation for winning but that's it.
Two different things:
Promotions should reflect an increase in responsibility or scope.
Compensation/bonuses should be a reflection of performance.
If that's the role you played, great job! You sound like a tremendous asset to your agency. If the people above you are even somewhat competent, your efforts won't be forgotten, and you'll find yourself trusted to do more and more, and money and promotions will come. Just keep building a body of work that says you're a star, and you'll be taken care of.

I appreciate the honest insight. I do not expect a raise and I do not expect a promotion from a recent win. The win is enough for me. I come from the music industry where everything is based on what you bring in. This often results in raises or promotions, hence my question about others' experiences with this facet of the business!
ha ha ha ha ha ha hoo. adorable.

How about this- I didn't just pitch. I found the client and brought them to my agency. No dice on that promotion lol. At least I did get to do a lot of high level work above my pay grade (what I tell myself as solace)
I have played a significant role in my last 3 business pitches - zero promotions but O got a raise
@director 1 thank you for the honest reply
lol promoted after
Thanks SVP1, I appreciate that :)
