Hearing rumors that the EY Honolulu office may be shutting down. Does anyone have insight into what that could mean for employees based there? Curious whether relocation would be required/covered, if people would move to remote alignment, or if layoffs are typically involved in situations like this.

Given we have never shut down a US office that is an island, I doubt you will get a reasonable answer. When we have shut down smaller offices on the mainland, we offered people the opportunity to transfer. I would not be surprised if that were the case here (if we actually were to shut down the office), but it obviously would not be as easy for you to just change offices.

Sad to hear. That "news" has not made it to the general partner population yet.

My guess is that they'll be forced to commute to the nearest office or let go. That's what PwC would do

It looks like Honolulu is the only Hawaiian office…still commute?

Conversations are happening this week. The options are dependent on the employee, service line etc. The office will close in November.

Hello Everyone,

I have been working with Kantar (a market research company) for 10 months now. The company has given me permanent work from home. Work is quite good and I am able to learn many things here. Also, my manager is very supportive and patient.
The only thing is about compensation, I have a package of 14 lpa with 6 YOE.
I'm thinking of switching to some company based in Pune.
What should I do?

It would be really helpful if I could get referral from you guys.

I am ready to take remote jobs & even relocate to Bangalore or Pune.

Thank you!

I joined pwc last month, and absolutely hating it here. Each weekend has been working, 12-15 hours work day is minimum expectation. And there's extreme hierarchy, where even after you spend 24 hours working on something, the director decides he wants something completely different and you delete and restart. (Note that you request them to review and give their pov earlier on, but they never take the time out)

Align to non-M&A offering but do a lot of work in the space (DD, integrations). B4 recruiter reached out and wants me to provide resume@for review with hiring partner. Does it work if I provide a bio with summary of M&A projects (client names removed) instead of a traditional resume? Also plan to list education and previous roles.

Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid
