I think you mean Dodd Frank Act, and looks like you will be first to go if you don't know the name of it.

Really? Haven't heard of any layoffs... Seems like we can do no wrong based on all firm communication that I've seen.

Did they lose bids on a couple of big jobs or are they anticipating the repeal of dobb frank?

I think, they hire crappy new hires with zero experience😂 especially in audit and expect seniors to clean after them. No dramatic layoffs i heard off in any of the offices just regular turnover after busy season i guess

It depends on the department and region. I don't work in advisory but my groups growth is through the roof so I'm not worried. We had some layoffs in the office but like CH4 said, they were low performers.

Layoffs are real, the OPs info is correct. Two people in internal audit in my office, both manager level. We're "reorganizing".

42 people, we knew about the reorganizing, not that there would be layoffs. Mostly from our business risk area, but some tech risk and reg comp risk. I've also heard one offs, like several audit in GR.

Firm performance is down = layoffs will be up

Crowe Horwath 7 - what office?

Not anyone in particular, they're removing smaller, more specific groups that don't have enough work.

It's all strategic. See my earlier comment. Smartest to start with with low performers and Specific BUs in offices that aren't performing to par, has the most impact to bottom line.

After being laid off due to dwindling clients, I am moving to Nashville. Any suggestions on great PR / communications agencies? Would love to get an idea of what’s there! Also, if you know of any companies looking for in-house I would love to hear about them.

Two months ago, the agency I worked at closed. They gave us a month's notice and no severance. I took that as my motivation to GTFO. Yesterday I got my first freelance gig as a journalist.

I was laid off in April when there was just email and phones. Cut to five months later and I’m working again. Yay. But suddenly it’s all Zoom, Slack, Teams, Slides, Sheets. Email is dead. And phones are only for Zoom, Slack, Teams, Slides and Sheets. It feels like I woke up from a coma in a shitty version of the future and everyone else is fine with it. How did anyone adjust to this?

Generally, does it look bad on a resume to go from a from full-time job to freelance? If that’s what you want, I don’t think it should, but folks might think you got fired or randomly quit or something.

Curious if consultants are still able to make the 25-30% compensation jumps moving firms within consulting given covid and layoff situation. Not 80k to 100k jumps but on the higher end like 150k - 185k jumps. Thanks in advance

How many Deloitte Workday consultants got laid off? In the Consulting bowl there appear to be a few, which surprised me. Workday tends to be strong. I even see Deloitte is hiring right now.

Saw an article recently how companies are investing in surveillance tools to evaluate the "productivity" of their employees since many transitioned to remote work. There are trackers out there that would screenshot your current desktop view at intervals, how long you've been typing/clicking, etc... it feels incredibly invasive. I think this needs to be listed very clearly in the employee handbook. Has your company been transparent with you about how they are tracking you?
