Currently a Solutions Consultant at Pegasystems.
I am interviewing at and considering making a jump to Oracle as a Specialist Solutions Consultant.
The reason for my move is currently at Pega SCs are treated more as AEs or Account Managers. The role at Oracle would be more of a true SC position. I also feel that Oracle will look BETTER on a resume and someone as young as me would have BETTER programs in place to train me and give me the foundation needed to be a successful SC.
Thoughts?

A couple of things to consider:
1) not sure what GDP is but you can apply intracompany transfer. Since Canadian me member firm is a different legal entity, you need to basically apply and go through the review process
2) your payroll will be moved to Canada, and local pay, which will be significantly less than what you earn now
3) at least a year is the mandatory requirement but you may want to have some buffer there so USCIS won’t question
4) the US needs to rehire you back, and I am not sure how easy the process is and if they are willing to do EB1A
5) EB1A does not need go through perm, and can be done as soon as 6 month to 1 year
1) Thank you so much for your response. Yes GDP is intracompany transfer. We have openings every now or so and I saw some postings in Canada.
2) I am aware that my pay will be significantly less. I see it as a minor blip in comparison to the entire picture if I can get my green card sooner.
3) thank you, that makes sense I will try to incorporate the buffer. In your experience, how long does the L1A application take in general and does it only start after 1 year is completed?
4) the contingency on doing a GDP is that I have to come back to the US office after my rotation and they also have the hire me back after my rotation. They have already agreed to do my PERM through EB2, is there a reason they will not agree for EB1A? Is it much more expensive?
2) If I go to Canada, should I go on a one or two year rotation? Can Deloitte only apply for my L1A after one full work year? If yes, I am thinking maybe I should do a 2 year rotation because I will be stuck for a couple months after the one year Canada rotation while they are processing my L1 application. In general how long does an L1A application take (application, visa, processing times, etc. and can the company only start this application after you have completed year one?)
3) Do you guys have any other recommendations I could follow or any other advice?
Thank you so much in advance for all your help.
What’s your current visa status? Why do you want to get L1A? L visa processing depends on the country (interview times), during covid, the wait time recommended by the law firm was 3-4 months. Feel free to DM - I’m on L visa
I am doing the exact the same thing but with the UK firms. Came here last year on Perm transfer to UK, but now not willing to stay in UK so found a Partner who is willing to transfer me back to US firms on an L1A. As I worked in the US offices for 5 and half years, and 15 months now in the UK, I am also eligible to skip the tenure requirements to be 1 year with US firms. So when I do make it back to US firms, eventually I will be able to initiate my Eb1C processing and the whole eb1c process takes around 18 months end to end. As of now the US firms and the immigration partner (BAL) is doing eligibility of an L1A as I am currently a Manager in UK firms and have been here since 15 months. I am told by the recruitment team that the whole visa process takes around 10-12 weeks.
Thank you for your response. Did you do a GDP to UK or were you externally hired by the UK firm to get your L1?
