ZS Associates
I have a couple of questions for ZS fishes-
1. Is it possible to turn down a promotion at ZS? I'm currently happy with my responsibilities as a Decision Analytics Consultant and don't want any added responsibilities in the near future (next 5 years)
2. Is it possible to shape up a career path in the BC stream which doesn't involve business development? I don't want to get into working on SOWs and RFPs.

Have you tried working with a recruiter. They may be able to help you craft your resume in a way that has broader appeal.
OP are you looking to work strictly in healthcare or are you wanting to pivot out of that as well? There are so many things you can do with the experience that you have. You could look for jobs in registration, that might be something that you would enjoy.
Patient care experience would be a good immediate pivot
You work at the VA. You should easily be able to pivot to an MSA job and then get a Masters in Psychology or counseling or MSW and work as a social worker
Have you tried any remote jobs? With that patient care tech you can do things from home
You could see if your workplace has tuition reimbursement and do a quick program for a medical assistant. Some hospitals also offer on the job training for it
Clinical Research Assistant
Thank you guys so much for your input! I really am going through mental anguish being forced to do patient care. My job is so political and if your not liked you will not advance regardless if you are qualified!!
Thanks all for replying because I appreciate the feedback! However it's been hard for me to find remote work because outside of Indeed or Glassdoor alot of these job/career sites look scammed. Any ideas on what positions I should focus on?
Go directly on company websites.
Write down a list of companies and go to careers section on their website.
Try pharmaceutical
Pfizer, Lily, Jazz, etc....
Try health insurance companies.
Blue cross, cigna, united healthcare
If I was you, I would try and find a part time or 1099 job to work while you keep your current job. I would apply for jobs in the field you are trying to get into. 1099 and part time jobs are much easier to get since most people are looking for full time work. From there you will have the experience you need to fully transition into that industry.
Just my opinion, but it’s very hard to make a career transition if you aren’t either willing to move or willing to take a crappy job in that field like a part time or 1099 position.
Thanks is patient care experience is that a job title?
You can also look into specialties. Certifications you can obtain to enhance what you already, but allows you better positions & pay in other departments of the health field.
Radiology & Cath Lab Techs seem to be amoung the happiest in the hospital.
If you are willing to upskill and learn how to coach, you could transition into a health coach role. I suggest going to the www.nbhwc.com website and selecting an approved program to learn more about training, cost, and what is entailed.
