If you are M at Cognizant, there is no way you can get an entry as SM at Deloitte. The mapping for Cognizant Managers is done at Senior Consultant level usually, and in case of rare exceptions, they are hired as M.
I felt CTS have better projects than Deloitte. Deloitte SDC sucks ! Been at both firms.
D will be a hard sale. The majority of experienced hires come a level below unless you really fight for it. They tried to bring me in as a C and I stood firm on SC to accept my offer.
You have a good chance of SM at EY if you can make a case for it. That’s where I jumped from and my SM at EY was an M at D with 8 YOE. There were also several SCs from competitors that came as Ms at EY with 5-6 YOE.
I have a hard time buying into this conversion in/out of D is a step below/up. I’ve known Ms at D enter as Ms at other Big 4. I’ve also seen plenty of SC/Ms transfer to D at same rank. What gives?
@PwC - SM will start around $180K for T3 city. Add another 10-15K for each tier.
Thank you!
Oh Deloitte. So full of yourselves.
EY usually brings in at Exp. M then promotes. It’s difficult to come in and hit the sales goals without a network. Very dependent on practice though
Yeah I agree with SM3. I’m pretty sure SMs at EY need like 10M in sales per year at minimum
You might be qualified to be an analyst at deloitte. Maybe
SM4 is spot on. Clearly soon to be partner
One of my direct reports (Senior consultant) just accepted an offer from Deloitte. Her offer was to join as a manager and she had no sales/revenue.
SM/Director is hard at B4 coming from Cognizant no matter the sales number and 3m in sales is low for a SM/D. Even if brought in as M the OP may not come in at top of the band like external hires from B4 or Accenture would. Not saying it can't happen, but I will be surprised and can almost guarantee SM won't happen, at best a M2/M3 role.
Nice ! I would imagine you’d get promoted soon?
Didn’t happen through the normal cycle because I haven’t been here long enough to qualify. They’re promising an off cycle promotion but it’s reportedly going to come with only an 8% bump on base... if they can make it happen. Doesn’t feel like it’s in line with the results. Looking for confirmation and guidance from the group!
Does Cognizant have a change team? Never seen them in any of the big engagements unless they play the tech role
I think you need more sales to be a SM
You might qualify to interview at our SM level. Base depends on the practice but could be as high as 220K ish for a T1 city.
Associate, sr consultant, managing consultant, sr managing consultant, associate partner, partner. AP I’ve heard is equivalent to SM at big 4
