Hello fishers,

My senior management is forcing me to take work of architecture and modeling which is currently handled by 12+ year experienced people.
I am having 2.5 years of experience and I feel it can become highly difficult for me to work on such things and also I am not having any experience in it.

When there was hiring, I suggested few profiles who had dedicated experience, due to lack of budget they were not hired.
When I raise concern they say I am capable of doing that work

But in reality I know that I don't own that much experience and also not capable of taking up architect or modeler position.

My fear is project will definitely fail or collapse due to my lack of experience to handle this . How can I explain this to management.

like

Just do it and raise risks/issues/doubt in a timely fashion. Make sure leadership understands you are doing them a favor and they need to help you

There is no one in team know this skill..neither me 😅 so am scared
Am sure they not gonna hire anyone else

Interviewing for a BDR position at Salesforce. Is there wiggle room to negotiate the compensation ? If so what do you recommend ?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Is Operations paid the least at your respective firms? I was hired to a Client Service Delivery role with a heavy focus on project management. I regularly interface with leadership internally and at the client. But, I am aligned to the “Operations” capability and make the least of my teammates who perform seemingly identical work but are aligned to “Strategy and Consulting.” I worry I’m on a career path to being paid the least wherever I go, because Operations is in my title and background.

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

I've got 4 years at a staffing agency after getting Masters in HRM and making a complete career change in 2018. Doing full cycle recruiting and account management. I feel I'm doing very well (in the role and with comp $57 base + commission = ~$91k last year) BUT I feel stuck!! I'm feeling undervalued and unchallenged. I think I'd love corporate recruiting/TA Specialist, etc. How do I make the jump? Should I just keep truckin??

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

And keep on saying how hard he works when he clearly wasn’t and already underperformed compared to an intern level.
