Hello! I am currently a student getting my logistics certification but have time to add certifications. I am not sure what certifications would help because there are a couple of areas im interested in freight brokerage, inventory management, procurement specialist, and logistics anaylst. I have a year to figure out what area I decide to pursue but can anyone help me with what certifications I can get on the side? I am currently taking an SQL certification but I have heard that learning SAP help

SAP can be learned on the job. I would explore APICS, CPIM, Kaizen, Kanban and Six Sigma for all things supply chain, procurement and inventory management. If you can tackle one of the 2 acronyms, toss in Kaizen and/or Six Sigma. You will be scooped up and you can name your salary. When you climb the ranks OR after you've proven yourself in the first 2-5yrs at a company you'll easily make 6 figures or leave that company and start at a leadership level making 6 figures if the current employer (once employed) doesn't appreciate the knowledge/experience you will obtain. I've been at this for 23yrs and I've got Procurement, warehouse operations, logistics and inventory management and I've learned everything I know on the job. I've never taken the courses but I've always had great leaders that invested time to teach me what I know. That SQL certification is a great idea, but SAP can be taught on the job....as it's just a systems application that is tied into ERP software. If you catch on fast - most software - when you play around with it enough is easy/quick to learn. Hope this helps (although I'm 2mos late in responding) and good luck!

Base salary: 120k

Sign-on bonus:10k

Bonus: 15%

No stock options

How competitive is this, and what should I negotiate for please? The written offer comes after verbal agreement.

If you had 2 mortgages at the exact same interest rate (1 is a 15 year and the other is a 30 year), does it make sense to put extra payments (say 400 per month) towards one or the other? Looking at it purely from a $ perspective in the long term (not psychological where You prepay the lower balance quicker to ultimately have only one loan).

30 year loan - 400k balance (looking to buy this property soon)
