Hello, I have a silly question: if I am a resident alien with work visa, does that mean I can’t do fraud and forensic since I can’t get the security clearance?

It depends on your prospect. There are many forensic services firms that wouldn’t require a security clearance. It isn’t until you get into work for the Bureau where you might need to be a citizen for employment. Also, you don’t need citizenship for a security clearance.

Thank you! Will do more search.

And even if naturalized citizen, some government projects require you to give up your dual citizenship if you have any.

Yes that’s correct

I’m also an alien and I work in forensics

I am one.

If there is a case that we have to quarantine again. Do you all think it is possible for store associates to work remotely? If so, what are some ways this could work? I fear another pandemic or outbreak and so many people being out of work again. I can't even fathom those that had jobs in retail that had little to no choice to not be remote.

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. I accepted a new job, they said PTO was “generous.” I find out it’s 19 days a year of PTO (which includes sick days). I have two young children and we like to vacation 1-2x a year (no more than a few days away each time). Am I crazy that this is pretty limited time off? 8 of the normal holidays off during the year (working the week between Christmas and NYE). Thoughts? I dont know if lack of PTO is a good reason to back out, is it?
