Hello! I'm at a junior level in my current position and have been at my job for about a year and a half. I want to talk with my manager about my goals and a path toward advancement in the future. However, I'm very nervous about this and not really sure how to ask for the time with him and what to say. I know he's very busy and I'm finding it's more intimidating than I anticipated. I was at a friend’s. Her and her neighbors are all moms and get together for dinner while the kids play. Recently a high powered individual scolded me for killing a tone deaf pride idea, because I said, “As an lgbtq person, I feel ____.” Allegedly that phrasing wouldn’t allow others to feel like they could state their opinions on the idea. I was extremely upset but didn’t want to burn a bridge so I listened to their feedback and tried to let it go. But I haven’t really let it go - it was demoralizing and insulting...and quite frankly I’m angry I let them get away with it. What would you do?

Am worried right now and have a different offer in pipeline (offer letter coming in 2days). Am thinking of leaving this organisation and join the other one even if they're offering less CTC.

Please advise if absconding in such manner will affect my career. Is there any consequence if I leave right now?
