Hi all! Question for HR people - are salary bands/caps for positions firm? Like for example, if the band for my position is 40-55k, am I not allowed to ask for a pay increase over 55K? Thank you!

Is committed pay any different from the previous variable pay (that was 10% of the gross salary)?

I heard that people would be paid the whole variable amount now, irrespective of performance (amount depending on the no. of months they have worked in Fractal in that FY). If that is the case, it is quite less than what I estimated. Am I missing anything?

I’m thinking of transitioning into consulting (later this year). However, I just received an offer from my current firm’s competitor for good comp benefits. My main hesitation is I’m targeting this fall to start applying for consulting jobs so how would it reflect on my application if i’ve only been with my (then) current firm for only a few months?

Should be getting an offer to be a Plant Controller at our largest manufacturing facility in the US. Would be an internal transfer but I am already at the location as part of a rotational program. Four years of experience (PwC) and with current company a year and nothing but stellar reviews at the current company and am CPA. Job description requires at least 10 years experience but this doesn’t seem to be an issue. My question is, what should my salary expectations be for this role?

I joined nagarro in July,22 and my first salary credited in aug,after that i was able to declare flexi and tax components ,then my second salary credited for sep month and it was very less ,bcoz of flexi declaration.but when i calculate declared flexi amount is ~25k ,as per nagarro it is tax saving component which you can claim later.but I am still not understanding why my executive allowance is very less this time from which ,i got in august 112000 and in sep it is ~21k in payslp

I have a Rollover and SEP IRA alongside my current 401k.

My Roth account has the lowest balance because historically I've taken the tax deduction for pre tax contributions to the SEP and Rollover.

I understand if I contribute the money to Rollover and then backdoor to Roth, I will pay tax pro-rata based on the contribution percentage of total Rollover/SEP account balance (majority tax on funds that have grown).

Q: Can I open another traditional IRA solely for the purpose of the backdoor?

All - I am on a large project (100+ people) a consultant that was combative to me (and in email) and did poor work is now likely going to be brought on to another work stream that I will be tangentially related too. I’m trying to be an adult about this but I’m just so upset people get away with things and come back. I was his Manager. I know a few managers on the team hired in at 110-120 thousand but have also heard I can expect a 5% raise or less moving up internally, which would put me around 25% below that. I was promoted to manager in Jan but received an offer with a 35% salary increase and much cheaper health insurance outside the firm. I am 85% sure I’ll take the offer, but wanted to see if anyone could think of acting I may be missing out on by leaving? FYI my inflation increase was larger than my promotion increase and my student loan payments also were stopped since I’m no longer an SA. I think what is holding me back is my guilt for my immediate team but just want to check.
