I would give you an advice to never compromise your career growth based on immigration constraints. If PwC is a kind of work you like and will take you to the next level join it on high $$$ and immigration will pan out some way or the other. Don’t restrict your learning or growth in an organization based on your immigration constraints. If you are good and have a good experience many companies will do what it takes to keep you around may it be immigration or anything else
Thanks for that insight. I’d agree with you. When it comes to interesting work, I think it’s a wash. PwC would be fast based but I’d end up only doing systems projects with maybe a sprinkling of interesting projects here and there. My current role is expected to expand more next year with a few folks leaving the team so I’ll get to accelerate my learning across multiple disciplines with Finance and take on more responsibility. I guess my big concern with Option 2 is leaving that $ on the table. And with PwC, I could still immigrate to Canada with a PR albeit not right away.
Been here in the US for almost 15 years now, still waiting for my green card. Option 2 is a no-brainer.
Hahaha, someone at last spoke from experience rather than just passion!
Option 2, unless your primary focus is $$$
Which company is Option 2
I am curious too!
Option 2. No Brainer
Option 2
Option 2
Option 2 100%
Option 2
Option 2
Pro
Option 2
Bowl Leader
Option 2
I would do option 2
Additional Info: I am an Indian citizen working in the US. I am trying to compare the opportunity cost and struggling to do so. On one hand, PwC pay is higher but is potentially more stressful, on the other hand current company doesn’t pay much but gives me a faster path to GC and opportunity to settle down in Canada.

Option 2 seems better. Option 1 has lot of unknowns - team dynamics, workload, immigration rules etc.
I agree with you on that and it’s a lot of trust to place in PwC with no backup option especially since no company would hire me if PwC delayed the GC process, with only a couple of years left on my H1B.
will you get paid the same amount of money once you’re in Canada?
Similar to current pay, definitely not PwC pay
It’s not easy with pwc stay put where ever you are as I feel option 2 is better
Additionally, pwc has 0.1% chance for intra transfer to Canada or any other country. Saying this out of my experience
OP.. their law team is incapable. They screwed up my h1 extension and made me sit in my home country for good 6 months while they reapplied for extension.. they even effed up the next petition..
My friend not just from my experience but my mates experience with the law team has been worse. Just run away from them
Option 2
However PwC has been quick in my case to file GC. Indian Citizen here. It all depends on the support from competency leader. Partners have powers at least they can influence the pace of PwC steps. But they can’t move the immigration dates... hence Option 2.
Also I hope the work life balance, peace of mind and relationships at current firm may be enough to compensate $$ even in the short run.
