I hear you, it’s nerve wracking to lead a new team especially when you’ve found a groove with your current team. I think what’s important is to understand how they liked to be managed. What are some things they liked and disliked in the way their previous managers led them. Do they prefer autonomy or do they need your constant support. I think starting with those few things will be worthwhile and give you more insight into how you lead and support them effectively. Best of luck, you got this!
Don’t need to lead a tenured team from the time you take over. Give this team 3 months - since they are experienced they won’t goof and will do what’s required with minimum oversight.
Get to know them in your bi weekly one on ones, what they are working on, what projects they would like to take over.
You got this! You’re certainly doing something very good to deserve this additional responsibility - good luck!
