16 yoe experience in full stack development with Java. Ctc 32 LPA, how much should I be asking when I’m currently interviewed for engineering manager/senior manager position?

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Umm should I reach out to recruiter or wait and see or forget? So I am starting a new job next week and the company I interviewed for(Microsoft) before told me they liked me but they are having headcount issues and for me to check back with them. Even the director had a meeting with me after final round to determine fit and hr said I am a good fit. It is a government contract so maybe that's why.
