Hey everyone, I'd like to pivot out of my current GL Accounting industry role. I also do not want to go back to Audit. I know there are a number of different certifications out there aside from the CPA (like CIA and CISA) but I am not sure which one would be a good use of my time and provide solid exit opportunities. Maybe even a project management cert? Has anyone else here managed to pivot out of industry accounting / audit into something else? Finance or non-Finance related. My exp below...

1. What is my profile fit for account executive role like?
2. What is the salary I can target? (Current- 19.6 fix+ 3.5 JB+ 4 variable) I am gunning for at least 30% jump on fixed.

Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? The bigger pay as an analyst is tempting, but the company benefits are meh.

I applied for a role a few days ago and found the relevant hiring manager today via LinkedIn. Should I send a follow up mail/introduce myself to this person. Would it leave a good impression or come across as desperate?

Btw, the person is in a “Talent Acquisition” position at the company.
