Hey folks! Got contacted by a McKinsey recruiter for an internal learning role. Thing is…they contacted me yesterday, and my first interview is…today. They also scheduled all three interviews.

Is this normal? I was told they’d just be situational interviews. Any insight?

I had the first round with a consulting firm and it takes them more than a month to arrange the final round and the recruiter is not being responsive. Is that normal?

Deciding between Structured Finance at EY and Valuation associate at Alvarez Marsal. I value work life balance but also want to get the most out of the job with great exit opportunities. Any input would be appreciated.

I am an associate at an AM200 firm and was (IMO) very clear prior to accepting this role that I value work-life balance and wanted to try to keep work at night on the weekends to a minimal, but since February, it seems like it’s always something that requires my time as needed disregarding “business hours” or my personal schedule. Thoughts on whether to bring this up or continue to be a team player until I burn out and pay off my student loans?

I have cleared technical round interview at Infosys. Waiting for HR discussion. I am expecting 13LPA (including 10% variable pay). Will they offer job with this package? Or this expectations is too high?

Hello friends, been offline for a while and trying to get a sense what the vibe in the NY market is at the moment? Hiring freezes and everyone is afraid of an approaching recession?

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.

So I've been at my job for 5+ years as a data analyst/back office support team. I made my way up into making a little over $40k. I've been WFH the past 2 yrs and overtime more than half my team has now been pulled out to work for a diff department which resulted in me taking 90% of our daily tasks to handle. Why is it that when the subject of pregnancy is brought up, people love to share their traumatic stories and the m- word (pregnancy loss). "Oh you know that m-s are so common.." like did I ask you?! He stayed optimistic and passionate about the job, and asked me again for advice about reapplying this year. I don't know what to advice him. I had a call with a recruiter at BCG towards the end of last week. I went to check the job description for the role on the careers website and it’s not there anymore. Instead it says, “we’re sorry…the job you are trying to apply for has been filled.” Why would the recruiter reach out to me about applying for this role if they were going to fill it so soon? The role is still listed on LinkedIn but when I click apply it takes me to the BCG careers page with the note saying the role has been filled

Made the pivot from Big 4 to Bain and frankly underwhelmed. Seems like Bains Ops capabilities / general knowledge resources / white papers are lagging the industry quite a bit. Miles behind BCG / McKinsey as well. Literally only good for PE and nothing else.

New hire here about to be up for staffing for the first time and sentiment at my firm seems to be worried/fearful about being unstaffed. Is it actually worrisome to be on the bench in this environment or is this just a product of highly ambitious over achievers worrying about not being constantly utilized?
